How has business been in 2022 Neil?
It’s been a rollercoaster year, as we all came out of covid, we could see the demand for hotels and for travel increasing and that has been great, but of course, that upside also comes with the downside of a global lack of staff, particularly acute in the UK with surging inflation and sky-high energy prices. Not a great combination for any business and certainly not for our customers and friends across the hospitality industry.
For Fourteen IP this has meant being as flexible and innovative as ever to ensure we have the solutions that fit the needs of our customers today and tomorrow. I am very pleased to say we rose to the challenge and are very much looking forward to an exciting 2023.
It sounds like it’s been a really busy year for you….
It’s been a busy year for all of us, we have developed new products and services for our customers and launched them to market during the latter end of 2022 and they have proven to be very successful. We are looking to grow our business in our core markets and beyond and of course, the ever-changing industry we work in always keeps us on our toes. We have also not been immune from the recruitment challenges facing our customers, as finding the right people for our teams can be challenging.
What does Christmas look like at the Tolley residence?
We went out for Christmas Dinner last year for the first time, much to the disgust of our daughter! It was marvelous and we are all looking forward to doing that again this year. Christmas also includes our Fourteen IP parties which are always unique and our customer party which I love, as it allows us to mix, relax and not talk about work for a few hours.
What are you hoping to find under the Christmas tree this year?
I never wish or hope for anything. If anyone bothers to buy me the smallest thing I think that’s amazing as they have bothered to take the time and effort to do so and I will be very grateful. This year, we received a Fortnum & Mason hamper, which was amazing.
What is in store for 2023?
More air miles, new business in new territories, new customers, new friends, and the full implementation of our new Customer Experience program. In summary, another exciting year is ahead for all of us with Evolution Virtual Agent (EVA) having a major part to play in 2023 and beyond.
